A Most Diabolical Disorientation
The Disobedience of the Catholic Church
A most diabolical disorientation indeed! This is what Sister Lucia referred when confronted about all of the changes in the in the Church in the late Sixties early Seventies;
“With so many changes going on in the Church since Vatican II, faithful Catholics and friends reported to Sister Lucy, strange activities of various clergymen, bishops and priests. The Catholic faithful knew that something was wrong. And so they asked Sister Lucy for her advice on this. She explained that it is diabolical disorientation. The devil is behind it, she said, and the devil has misled many people, surprisingly even bishops and Cardinals; and although she has not said it, maybe even the Pope himself.” (Taken from the Summer, 2006 Issue, THE FATIMA CRUSADER)
I believe the greatest disorientation of them all is the change of the Mass by Pope Paul VI! It is the single most important event since our Lord established His Church. The Catholic Mass is the perpetual “clean oblation” that is offered by the Gentiles from sunrise to sundown as told by the Prophet Malachi, in the last book of the Old Testament.
“For from the rising of the sun even to the going down, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place there is sacrifice, and there is offered to my name a clean oblation: for my name is great among the Gentiles, saith the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 1, 11
No Church can fulfill this prophecy except the Catholic Church, no Lutheran, no Baptist, none! This clean oblation we call The Eucharist, is the sole reason that the gates of Hell have not prevailed against the Church that Jesus established. Because in the Eucharist, Jesus Himself abides and when we receive Him He abides in us!
“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him.” John 6, 51-57
This is why the Church was able to succeed in spreading the Gospel to the four corners of the world because Jesus was there in the Eucharist everywhere the Apostles and their successors went. Just like the Israelites carrying of the Ark of the Covenant into battle in the Old Testament. This is why the Devil has always attacked the Mass because of the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ sustains the Church. “and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.” Matthew 28: 20
What I am going to present to you is the disorientation of the Mass and how the Devil is close to destroying the Church because we, the members, are disobedient children.
The Church that Jesus Christ established is a Hierarchical Church, with Jesus being the Head, then the Apostles (with the bishop of Rome being first among equals), then Cardinals/Priests then Deacons and then the laity. This order of rank comes from our Lord Jesus himself. This was clearly known even as the Church was starting to take shape, for when Mary Magdalene found the Tomb empty, “She ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciples”, notice Peter is first, and then other disciples. When Peter and the other disciple both ran to the tomb, the other disciple reaches the tomb first but waited for Peter. In the Acts of The Apostles, chapter 2, verse 14, “But Peter, standing with the Eleven, lifted up his Voice and addressed them”,. Whenever the Apostles are listed or numbered in Scripture, Peter is always first. But it was when Jesus gave Peter the “Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven” that it solidifies the Church a Hierarchy with Peter as the Vicar of Christ. Thus making the Bishops subject to the office of the Chair of Peter. So, the Catholic Church, the one true Church established by Jesus Christ is Hierarchical, always has been.
In 1543, in response to the Protestant Reformation that was taking place, the Council of Trent convened. One of the decrees that came from the Council was to clean up and remove “many errors” that had crept into the Mass, see Twenty-Second Session of the Council (Chapter IX). Pope Pius V, in obedience to the Council set out to standardize the Mass. In his Apostolic Constitution “Quo Primum” Pope Pius V did as the Council said and created a new Rite to unify the Church in the Mass. It is important to note, that the basic structure and form of the Mass stayed the same which goes back to St. Gregory The Great.
Pope Pius V decrees the following in regards to the new Rite that he created:
“Let all everywhere adopt and observe what has been handed down by the Holy Roman Church, the Mother and Teacher of the other churches, and let Masses not be sung or read according to any other formula than that of this Missal published by Us. This ordinance applies henceforth, now, and forever, throughout all the provinces of the Christian world, to all patriarchs, cathedral churches, collegiate and parish churches, be they secular or religious, both of men and of women – even of military orders – and of churches or chapels without a specific congregation in which conventual Masses are sung aloud in choir or read privately in accord with the rites and customs of the Roman Church. This Missal is to be used by all churches, even by those which in their authorization are made exempt, whether by Apostolic indult, custom, or privilege, or even if by oath or official confirmation of the Holy See, or have their rights and faculties guaranteed to them by any other manner whatsoever.
This new rite alone is to be used unless approval of the practice of saying Mass differently was given at the very time of the institution and confirmation of the church by Apostolic See at least 200 years ago, or unless there has prevailed a custom of a similar kind which has been continuously followed for a period of not less than 200 years, in which most cases We in no wise rescind their above-mentioned prerogative or custom. However, if this Missal, which we have seen fit to publish, be more agreeable to these latter, We grant them permission to celebrate Mass according to its rite, provided they have the consent of their bishop or prelate or of their whole Chapter, everything else to the contrary notwithstanding.”
Pope Pius V bound every Roman Catholic to the Tridentine Mass except those in Rites that were exempt if older then 200 years. But Pope Pius V also abrogated every other previous Masses:
“All other of the churches referred to above, however, are hereby denied the use of other missals, which are to be discontinued entirely and absolutely; whereas, by this present Constitution, which will be valid henceforth, now, and forever, We order and enjoin that nothing must be added to Our recently published Missal, nothing omitted from it, nor anything whatsoever be changed within it under the penalty of Our displeasure.”
In 1963 the Second Vatican Council decreed that changes to the Mass be enacted in order for it to be more “fruitful” to the faithful. It can be found in document “SACROSANCTUM CONCILIUM”
In 1969, Pope Paul VI decided not to change the Mass but instead decided to create a New Rite, which is where we get Novus Ordo phrase, meaning New Rite in Latin. So, Pope Paul VI, in his Apostolic Constitution of April 1969 (MISSALE ROMANUM), declared that a new Rite be created and in November of 1969 with the start of the new Liturgical Calendar the new Mass as we know it today was instituted upon the faithful.
Now the new Mass had devastating effects on the Church, between 1965 and 1975, the Church saw a dramatic loss of Religious leaving Religious life, Priests, Nuns and Brothers alike. See this blog post for more data { joao.machado-family.com }The faithful stopped attending Mass by the millions, all sorts of strange ceremonies were introduced into the Mass. Devotion to the Sacred Heart, the Rosary and even the tearing down of beautiful and ornate Gothic Churches and replacing them with essentially can only be described as warehouses from the pits of Hell!
So, why did this happen, why and how did this disorientation come about? Well, the most accurate theory I would say comes from Fr. Malachi Martin, the well know author famous for his books about the Catholic Church and the Vatican. In an interview that he did, he said that the only logical , theological, explanation for what happened was that “our Lord withdrew Grace, Sanctifying Grace”! It is hard to argue with that statement when you look at the Church today. But the next logical question has to be why did our Lord withdraw Grace from His Church? I believe it is because the Church is in a state of disobedience that started in 1960.
Jesus Christ said to the Apostles,
“He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.” LUKE 10:16
“Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.” JOHN20:23
Clearly our Lord gave the Apostles his authority especially the authority to forgive sins but notice that the Apostles were not given the ability to read minds! So it is logical to assume that the faithful were expected to confess their sins to the Apostles and that is the Sacramento of Confession/Penance. Our Lord told Peter, “who ever listens to you listens to me”, Peter has the authority of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!
According to Lucy, the seer of Fatima, the now famous Third Secret had to be opened by the Pope of 1960. When asked why it had to be 1960, she answered “because our Blessed Lady wishes it so” and “it will be clearer then”. So 1960 came and Pope John XXIII, along with a group of Cardinals and some Portuguese interpreters read the Secret. The story goes, Pope John XXIII after reading it, put it back in the envelope, and said “not for our time” and failed to reveal the Secret to the world. Now, let me ask you something, if in 1960 it would be “clearer”, what can be more clearer than the highest Prince of the Church denying a mandate from Heaven? Disobedience number one!
As we discussed earlier, the Second Vatican Council issued the decree to change some aspects of the Mass but this is in direct opposition to then decree of Pope Pius V! He specifically forbid the changing of the Mass, and gave penalty to anyone including Bishops and Cardinals who dared to change the Mass. Not to mention that Pope Pius V also made the decree a perpetual one, it can never be abrogated, both Pope John II, in his letter ECCLESIA DEI, and Pope Benedict XVI in his Apostolic Letter SUMMORUM PONTIFICUM , both state that the Traditional Latin Mass was never abrogated. This means that all that Pope Pius V decreed still stands and the Second Vatican Council decreed changes to the Mass in direct opposition to the decrees of Pope Pius V! Disobedience number two!
When, in 1969, Pope Paul VI decreed that a new Rite be created it was completely within his authority as Pope to create new Rites, this you cannot argue with. But there is a large and looming issue with his Apostolic Constitution, Missale Romanum, although he did decrees that a new Rite be created, he gave no decree as to which Rites are to use this new Missal. In fact, the only decree in that Apostolic Constitution is that a new Rite be created and a new Missal be printed, that is it. But here is the clincher, Pope Paul VI never abrogated the Mass from Pope Pius V. Now, this does not mean that the new Mass is not valid, because it is a valid Rite but it has no church, Pope Paul VI created a Rite that has no church! Because the Roman Catholic Church is still bound by the Mass of Pope Pius V! This means that the new Mass is illicit, in other words, not allowed.
So, when a Roman Catholic goes to the new Mass instead of the Traditional Latin Mass, they are performing an act of disobedience and because Pope Pius V bound every Roman Catholic to the Mass and Missal that he decreed, they will suffer the consequences at their Judgment. Our Lord Jesus will keep His word when He told Peter, what ever you bind on Earth will be bound in Heaven and what ever you loose on Earth will be loosed in Heaven. MATTHEW 18:18 Disobedience number three!
This is why I believe that our Lord has withdrawn Graces from His Church because He is obedient, obedient even onto death and what the Popes bind and loose by His name, He will honor.
Now, if this is not confusing enough, then you have Pope John Paul II who created a new Rite for the Anglicans that wish to join themselves to Rome. Now this Rite is perfectly legitimate because the Anglicans coming into the unity of the Bishop of Rome have their own church and their own Rite to go with it. So they are not bound by Pope Pius V because Pope Pius the V did not bind his decrees to new Rites not yet created. The irony is almost funny…
